Building a Bac II exam countdown
A short case study on a small Next.js timer I built so Cambodian students can see how much time is left before Bac II.

Why I built this
Bac II is Cambodia's national Grade 12 exam. You need it for a diploma and for university, so the date sits in the back of your head for months. I went through that year. You study, you lose a week, and suddenly the exam is closer than it felt.
I wanted a page you could bookmark and open when you needed a reminder that the date is real. Not a study planner. Not another dashboard. Just the time left.
What I built
A small Next.js site that counts down to August 10, 2026 at 07:00 GMT+7. It shows days, hours, minutes, and seconds. The layout stays quiet on purpose so the numbers are the only thing asking for attention.
It works on a phone. NumberFlow ticks the digits. Tailwind and ShadCN handle the rest.
